dreams calling me

Sunday will be a welcome relief for me. About the only time that I have been fully alert this week was when I was taking my exam. As for the rest of my time, most of it has been a blur. Not having a weekend to recover some lost sleep really makes a difference to me.

...

I had been waiting to speak with Nicole since Wednesday night. Her fiance had an accident while driving her car that night. He was fine, but somehow he managed to crash into a parked bus on his way to work. It seems that he was fumbling for a lighter at the time. To make matters even worse, he doesn't have insurance so she gets to pay for it.

The poor girl never seems to get ahead in life. For just a brief moment, I thought of lending her some money, but then common sense came to my rescue. Friends should not lend friends money. Besides I think that her parents will probably help her out.

I guess that she wasn't that angry at first, but ever so slowly she has been getting more and more upset with him and life in general. At the moment it looks as though they might just have the car totaled, but she doesn't have enough money to buy a new one. She is juggling a couple of other options, but none of them put her very far ahead in the money department.

A nice thaw has hung around for the past few days and it makes the discarded Christmas trees along the edge of the street look that much sadder.
