purchase season eight

Since I had finished reading A Trip to the Stars by Nicholas Christopher last week Friday, the plan had been to start a new book as soon as possible. I didn't want to water down the impact that the novel had on me, but I wanted to continue reading something. The feeling that I had gotten from the book was so strong that trying to keep it going with another book seemed like the logical thing to do. Plus there was a time when I'd be able to read a few books a month, but now I struggle to find time to read just one a month. Well, with a first draft of a seven-page paper due this afternoon for class, that didn't happen on Saturday or Sunday.

While taking a break from writing my paper this morning, I perused some of the reviews at Amazon about season eight of The X-Files on DVD. As of now there were some forty or so reviews and all of them were very emotional be they pro or con. Personally I had no problems with either Agent John Doggett (Robert Patrick) or Special Agent Monica Reyes (Annabeth Gish). The show was in trouble with the two principals wanting to leave so something had to be done to keep the program alive. As to what else could have or in some cases should have been done appears in more than one of the reviews.

...

Once I got to class this afternoon, I found out that I wasn't the only person who had waited until the last moment to work on their paper. The two other people in my group had partially finished papers just like mine and from what I overheard from the other people around us we weren't the only ones. Since it was just a first draft no one took the assignment that seriously. Plus we were the ones who were going to go over the papers and not the instructor.

Now I have said this before, but it can stand being repeated. That hour and fifteen minutes that I spend on campus is so much more valuable than the forty hours that I spend at work. Even though I was so tired this morning and was thinking about not going to class, I am happy that I went. Just being able to talk with intelligent people about topics that have nothing to do with computers or business is what keeps me sane.

School makes me feel as though as I am accomplishing something with my life, whereas work is merely a source of money.
