depression era comedy On the tenth of next month, I'll be seeing another play at the Milwaukee Rep. Once again the production is something that will be completely new for me so I wanted to do some quick research on what I'll be seeing. Here is what I found: "You Can't Take It With You is a Pulitzer Prize-winning play by George S. Kaufman about a house full of dreamers, anarchists, and other lovable losers presided over by their indulgent and loving grandfather. Also a notable film of 1938 with Lionel Barrymore as the patriarch. It ends with a grand, accidental fireworks explosion." That description doesn't instill that much confidence in me, but I might be wrong. I'll have my answer next week Friday. |
