cold or diet Yesterday I thought that I was well on the road to recovery, but today I am beginning to think that I may have been a little hasty with that judgment. The fever didn't return nor did the death rattle cough, but my appetite disappeared. Food has once again lost all interest for me and when I stepped on the scale at work I saw what kind of effect not eating for the past few days has had on me. Since I have been sick I have lost a total of at least five pounds. If my appetite doesn't come back soon then that amount is almost certain to increase. ... Before John Byrne retooled Superman for DC back in 1986, the Man of Steel had a very different feel to him. Yes, he was still Clark Kent, mild mannered reporter dodging the affections of Lois Lane, but for me he was more likable. Obviously most people think of the character more as an icon than anything else and I see that as a flaw in him today. No one knows what to do with him anymore. Here he is this invincible boy scout that can do no wrong that leaves most people bored. There is no drama in a perfect character. At least in the late 1970's he still had doubts about what his role on Earth was supposed to be. He wasn't this father figure to the rest of the costumed community. Oh, he never whined as much as Peter Parker, but at the same time, he seemed like a person more than a myth. |
