shakespeare japanese style

I can add another Kurosawa film to my list of favorite movies and I'm not surprised. Ever since I first saw his film Ran years ago, I have been very impressed by his style, because what he does on the screen is violent and graceful at the same time. Very few people can successfully mix those two extremes in the same piece of art. For me, Throne of Blood is great fun and it has everything to do with the story. Macbeth as seen through the eyes of Kurosawa makes me smile.

Lately if not for most of this month I haven't been able to concentrate on much of anything except for work and that doesn't make me happy. With that shift in focus or lack thereof depending on my mood, life has become a dull routine again and that needs to change. What I want to do is take another vacation, but I haven't gotten much further than a few destination choices. Even though I'd like to leave the country I suspect that a trip to the southwest part of the United States is more reasonable. Maybe if all goes well, I'll be able to spend a week or so in the desert in either New Mexico or Utah this October.
