under table dreaming

Ever so slowly I have been rediscovering the music in my collection. Now since I am slightly old fashioned and do not own a mp3 player of any kind, this means I get to sift through dozens of jewel cases that have been deposited throughout various places in my house. Most of my collection sits in drawers or near my computer for easier access. My first choice for rediscovery was the Dave Matthews Band.

I can't classify myself as a true hardcore follower of Dave, but I do still like his first three discs. His band holds the distinction of being the first band that I found after I graduated from college. I was still very much into that kind of sound at the time and their music seemed to be a perfect match for my personality. The tempo was right and his vocal style appealed to me. I had no idea it would get as much airplay as it did.

Sadly Dave lost me with the Everyday album. It did not appeal to me at all and I haven't looked back since that time.

I have loved the film Bladerunner from the very first time that I saw it years ago. So I was intrigued when I read the reviews for a Korean film called Natural City. More than one person said that it borrowed heavily from Bladerunner in terms of imagery and story. Now that I have seen the film, I have to say that they were correct. Sometimes there are scenes that feel as though they were lifted straight from Bladerunner with new actors in the familiar roles. All of these swipes didn't make me like the movie any less. It just made watching it seem odd.
