New Furniture I bought a chest for my living room early this afternoon. It looks good. This was not an impulse buy. Whenever I am going to make a major purchase I dwell on it for months. I have been looking at chests since last winter. I like the look of them. Chests have a very sentimental quality abut them. Now I have a place to store some of my art prints and important papers. Plus I can put my plants on top of it. I plan on keeping the chest for years to come. I also bought an entertainment center for all of my electronics. This should have been done years ago, but I never got around to it. My stereo and television used to sit on an old three shelf stand with peeling veneer and water rings. In addition I finally put away the milk crates that served as stereo stands from my college days. Everything that was in the living room got moved this afternoon. I moved the couch closer to the window so that I can feel the breeze and look out at the sky. The halogen lamp was moved to the opposite corner. The entertainment center is in a corner away from the glare of the sun. I am amazed at how much better my living room looks now. Everything looks new and matches. It is more open and inviting. I can stretch out in my living room now. All of the clutter is gone. I finally have my little comfort zone. I am very pleased with myself. All in all I did a very good job.
I had the oil changed on my car today. This is the first oil change on this car. Maybe some other time I will talk about how I lost my other car to the great Flood of '97 in Wisconsin.
Today was a very productive day for me. I bought and moved furniture. I had an oil change done on my car and spoke some more with my new landlords downstairs. The best part of the day was the weather though. Summer does not want to stop yet. Eighty degree weather at this time of the year is a luxury. This is our spring instead of our fall it seems. Tomorrow I attack the kitchen.
