Safe Mode

I had a few moments of panic tonight. When I decided to start up the company laptop one more time before I gave it back tomorrow, it started in safe mode. I had never seen this before. Not once had this happened in the entire three weeks that I had it. Then I started to think why this might have happened. It said that the computer had not been shut down properly the last time it was used.

So I started to think when was the last time that I used the computer. I had logged on one more time in the hotel Friday morning to read my email, but that couldn't of been it. Then I remembered that on Friday at the airport they had asked me if I had a laptop in my bag after it went through the x-ray machine. I said yes. Then they asked me to start it. So I did. Then since I was drunk boy at the time, I don't think that I waited for the you can shut off your computer message before I hit the power button. Oops.

All is well now though. I have never been so happy to hear that damn start up chime in my life. I also successfully deleted all traces of me from the laptop. They really don't need to know about the online journal.

Whoever used it before me had left traces of the online porn that they had surfed in the browser cache. Not too bright.

Work really dragged today. The novelty of being the returning hero has worn off. At least next week will be short because of Thanksgiving. Then the following week is my birthday and I will be going out of town again.
