Early to Bed

I really need to change my sleeping patterns, because getting out of bed this morning was a struggle. Maybe if I went to bed before two in the morning, six o'clock wouldn't seem so early. It sounds simple, but I like staying up late. I guess that I don't mind collapsing on my living room floor for a few hours when I get home to try and make up for the sleep that I missed at night. This late afternoon nap means that when nine or ten o'clock rolls around I am wide awake and I start the cycle all over again. Bad habits are hard to break.

No more whining about what I want to do with my life today. I'm having too much fun to care right now. Hanging out with Brenda is fun and she's a complete contrast to Tracy. Brenda has a college education and a good job both of which were beyond Tracy. Being around Brenda makes me wonder why I ever got involved with Tracy. Brenda can't believe it either. Beth had given her some details about what had happened, but I told her the rest of the story.

In the interest of friendly competition, I want to share my warm fuzzy blanket story today. Ginkgo approves of the idea, because she thinks that the story is funny.

Years ago when I was in preschool, my mother got a phone call from the people at the center. They wanted my mom to come pick me up. It seems that another boy and myself were causing a disturbance at the preschool. My buddy and I had decided to be ghosts for the day. This meant running around with our blankets on our heads without any clothes on underneath. In child logic this makes perfect sense, because ghosts wear sheets not clothes. So if we were going to be ghosts we didn't need any clothes. The people at the center said that we were scaring the girls. I have to confess that I don't remember doing any of this at all, but I have been told the story more than once from my parents so it must be true.

Time to sleep.
