bletchley park For the few hours that I wasn't caught in a drug-assisted sleep, I watched a documentary on code breaking during the second world war. I was amazed at what they could do without the aid of sophisticated electronics or anything resembling what we call computers today. A group of people just sat in a room deciphering code by hand trying combination after combination until they found a repeated phrase that they could use as a key. It made me wonder at what level cryptography stands today. Since I know the routine fairly well, I would have to say that I am entering into phase two of my cold. Surprisingly I made it to bed by ten this morning and when I woke the pounding headache and mild fever from last night had given way to a sore throat and runny nose. Two days from now I should be back to normal. All that I need to do is stick with the rest and fluids treatment and soon it will be behind me.
