So I was in this training class for the first three days of the week, right? So yesterday afternoon I stop by the office to answer some e-mail and check things out, make sure I'm not too far behind.
The greeting I got! Co-workers came out of their offices, squealing my name and telling me how much they had missed me.
I was so glad I hadn't found another job over the last three days.
Went to my in-law's house this evening to give Sonya's mom a Mother's Day gift (a Tiffany lamp, which she loved). Had a nice time jawing with my brother and sister in-law, comparing notes on what had happened to people since high school - the brother in-law graduated a year behind Sonya from the same high school, and we knew lots of the same people.
Our conclusion: most of the people we went to high school with are nothing, but we are not. Hooray!
"Showcat! Quality showcat!" Man, that Friends show sure is funny. Say what you will, I still like it.
I am officially off the mailing-list-that-dare-not-speak-its-name. The signal-to-noise ratio was way high for my taste, and in particular they failed to realize that I am the greatest motherfucking genius to ever walk in their midst. Really, if you're not going to talk about me what's the point?
Roxy went with us to the in-law's this evening, too. She was very cute, romping around their big living room and sniffing around the back yard. She even sat in my mother in-law's lap. Precious!
Lots of fan-friendly bands, too, like Sheryl Crow and Hootie, too. There should be big crowds and lots of sunshine. I'm excited! If you need me this weekend I'll be rollin' on the river.
