So my nephew, Joe, graduates from high school tomorrow night. How 'bout that? Picture it, if you will: New Year's Day, five in the morning, some seventeen years ago. My family, gathered around the glass of the nursery window at Baptist East...looking at this red little baby whose mouth was open so wide in indignant bawling that I could have fit my head between his toothless gums. And now? He's a suave soon-to-be college student with a bustling social life and an easy, smart-ass way about him. Time does go by, huh?

Guess what I'm buying this weekend? Tomb Raider Gold! I'm so excited!

And, officially, a dork. I make web sites for a living, I'm looking forward to the new Star Wars movie, excited about a video game...sad, isn't it?

When I got the last Tomb Raider game I played it in my free time nonstop for, oh...three weeks or so. It was pathetic. I can't do that this time, though, 'cause I have bigger goals. On June 19 I will be running in the Gibson 5K. My friend Donna, too, is a budding runner so we'll be doing this one together. I've just got a few weeks to train, so I'm hoping this will work out and I won't embarass myself too badly.

And, I might remind you, if I run the race fairly successfully (no walking half the way or falling down in a jittering pile on the sidewalk) I will be getting a nipple pierced. I deserve it, don't you think?

I'm also considering shopping for another tattoo. I love the parrot, you know, but something new might be fun - if I can find a design I really like. I'll keep you posted.

Tonight I've been surfing around, looking for information on The Blair Witch Project, a new horror movie that I've read some good stuff about. Go watch the quicktime movie called Heather's Confessional. That motherfucker gave me chills. It still gives me chills. This promises to be a deeply, deeply scary movie. This is the kind of thing that keeps me looking over my shoulder for weeks.
