I ran again tonight for the first time in over a week. It went very well, actually. Probably my best time ever, in fact. Quite nice, compared to the Firecracker 5K with my miserable time and having to wheeze and stagger.
I haven't run since the third, then, but I haven't smoked since the first. This is a good thing. The weather here is very mild (for July), and that combined with the not smoking and the not having bronchitis anymore made for a damned fine run. I think I may just let the smoking thing go; I've certainly felt better without it.
I don't know if this is tied in to the nicotine deprivation or not, but I've been having the most vivid dreams over the last week or so. The most recent one had to do with watching the huge fish that live in the river come to the surface to feed (bass and catfish that had to weigh tons, man) and watching the tornadoes ravage Arkansas across the water.
However, I've had two dreams where circumstances have led me to have to attempt to kill someone by bashing their head in with a blunt household object. In one dream, it was a hammer. In another, it was a clock. In both dreams I didn't have the strength to actually do any damage - I'd just keep hitting and hitting and the blows would glance off, harmlessly.
Actually, in one of the dreams (the one with the clock) I managed to put a good-sized dent in the head of my enemy. He was still moving about and seemed pretty spry for someone with a caved-in head.
I also had a Blair Witch dream the other night, which scared me senseless. I actually remember blubbering with fear in that dream.
And, for all of my readers out there with cable TV, Curse of the Blair Witch, the Sci-Fi Network's pseudodocumentary about the very scary pseudodocumentary airs in less than an hour. I'm very excited about this. Did you know The Blair Witch Project is now an urban legend? It's true! People are stupid.
So I'll be in front of the TV if you need me.
