Gambling

Busy, busy, busy.

Here's the plan:

I've already gotten a haircut, Sonya's oil changed and a couple of books from the library. Now we're going to West Memphis to park the truck and drop off the keys with our beloved Angie, who is serving as dogsitter this weekend.

Angie, you rock!

Then it's back home (after a quick stop to pick up a few items for Angie's stay and to have lunch), get ready and head down to the Horseshoe to wait - for hours, it's true! - for the Duran Duran show tonight.

Sonya and Jen's dorkiness is ratcheting up every hour. I am unafraid, though. Soon they will be among their people and, truthfully, quite a few of my friends will be there. It should be fun.

Then, first thing in the morning, we'll pile in to the car and head off for Biloxi for two (TWO!) more Duran shows at the Grand Casino there. I will not be attending these shows, unfortunately. I'll have to entertain myself in other ways - which I am certainly capable of.

Friday I'll sample beachfront bars to see who can serve the drink with the most fruit and umbrellas in it.

The Saints have a home exhibition game, so I'll probably snuggle up to a TV Saturday night. If Biloxi is within the blackout area I'll be driving to Alabama.

I love an adventure.

Update - 08/20/99, 12:17 a.m.

Sonya got backstage (her and Nick Rhodes, right). Need I say that the show rocked?

Massively, stupidly drunk. Off to Biloxi in the morning. Can't wait. Can't type.
