Michelangelo sibyl from the Sistine Chapel

one for you

For the first time in weeks, I didn't sleep through the latter half of Sunday. What made it even better was that not only did I not sleep throught it, but I actually got something accomplished. Usually if I am awake after midnight, I spend most of my time either online or watching television. Very seldom do I do anything worthwhile. Today was different, if I don't include watching not one, but two episodes of The X-Files.

I think that people would be surprised at what they can get done at three in the morning. Of course since I work third shift I find this to be very natural.

I finally removed all of my files from my old computer and then reinstalled everything to make it look like new for my sister. From the last time that I spoke with my parents they said that she was coming home from the army sometime last week. So to fulfill my role as nice older brother I thought that I would let her have my old system since I bought a new one. I guess now that she is out of the army she'll be going to college and having a computer might make things easier for her. I know that it would have been nice to have a computer when I was in college, but I didn't.

Actually when I was in college I had very little contact with computers. My interest in them had waned when I started high school and then didn't return until I got of college. The majority of my college years were spent learning centuries old things such as painting and printmaking. I was drawing on limestone with a grease pencil instead of sitting next to a flickering screen. Now I spend hours each day staring at computers and I couldn't imagine not owning one.

Of course I can't quite justify owning two computers which is another reason for letting my sister use my old system.

Saturday night at work ended on a mellow note and gave me some time to read more of Bad Land, which I'll probably finish this week.
