More often than not, the only time that my job is overly is busy is when something goes wrong. Well, by the end of my shift, I was very busy at work and part of it may have been my fault. Something that was supposed to have been routine went very wrong. At the time I couldn't say what was wrong, but I knew that something was not right. It wasn't until most of the morning crew has rolled in for the day that the problem was found and eventually solved.

Even though I do criticize my job and business in general from time to time, I do still take my job very seriously and I felt badly about what had happened. Some may say that the American work ethic is a myth, but I do still care about how my job reflects on me as a person. Thankfully since I have been with the company for over a year most of my coworkers were very sympathetic and told me not to make too much of what had happened. Some of them were even making excuses for me.

A small part of me half expected to see other people outside looking up at the night sky, but with the exception of a person walking their dog down the block, I was the only one. Then again maybe everyone else was smart enough not to stand outside for extended periods of time when the temperature was zero degrees Fahrenheit with subzero windchills.
