doorbell alarm

Part of me feels that I came across as an asshole yesterday, but that wasn't my intention. In fact the truth is that I am usually a real pushover when it comes to women, but I do have a breaking point and I wish that it wasn't reached so often when I am involved with someone. Of course all of this is based on past experience which I said I was going to put behind me. Besides if I canít free myself of my mental baggage then I can't complain about other people having their own set. Now I can only hope that I do what I say I want to do.

My first night back at work felt more like my end of the week rather than the beginning of it. It was so slow that I read for most of the night. Instead of sitting in a windowless room in Milwaukee, I was out in Montana watching the storms roll over the land.

I knew that it was supposed to snow this afternoon, but I wasn't expecting to hear the doorbell ring. At around quarter to five this afternoon that horrible sound tore me from sleep. It rang a second time as I was pulling on a pair of jeans and stumbling down the stairs. It was the delivery guy with the SCSI card that I had ordered. I was told to expect it on Thursday, so I was a little surprised to see him. Now rather than going back to sleep, I stayed awake to install the card on my new system.

With the card in place I can use my scanner again instead of buying a new USB one. My reasoning was that the card cost less than a new scanner and I have another external SCSI drive that I can also plug into the card. So for the price of one new piece of equipment I can use two old ones rather than buying two new ones.
