Michelangelo sibyl from the Sistine Chapel

germany and italy

Today had to be one of the most productive days that I have had in a long time. Not only did I get an early start in the morning, but everything that I had hoped to do went very well. It started out simple enough with me getting a haircut, but once that was finished I was on a roll going from one part of the city to the next checking off items on my list.

Eye of the Beholder was one of those films where they must have cut some key scenes from the film, but didn't want the audience to know that they did. If that wasn't the case, then something else definitely needed to be added to the plot. I like both Ashley Judd and Ewan McGregor, but I have no idea why either of them made this film or what they were trying to achieve in it. At least Jason Priestly did some acting that was worthwhile. Unfortunately this makes two less than impressive movies that I've seen this year.

Of the trailers that I saw before the movie, I think the most interesting of the group was the one for Pitch Black, which may or may not be a fun bad science fiction movie. I think that in the coming weeks I should try to avoid any more psycho sexual type movies for a while and just go in for some plain old fashioned alien killing people type of violence where a true plot need not be essential. Then again the third installment of the Scream series opens this week.

After thinking some more about what my brother said about the Europe trip, it seems that he has a more of a central path in mind then I did. Basically he plans on starting in Amsterdam and from there going down through Germany and then eventually making his way into Italy. London was also a possibility, but Ireland didn't interest him at all. So I guess that I'll change my plans and do Britain and Ireland by myself next year. My wanting to see Prague, however, works very well with his proposed plan of attack.

When I mentioned Prague to him, his immediate response was to mention INXS and their video for the song Never Tear Us Apart.
