staring at the sky Part of my morning and early afternoon was spent on the telephone. I was busy pricing airline tickets to Europe with one travel agency after another. Over and over I kept hearing how I was going during the peak of the tourist season and that I should have gone earlier to get a better price. After getting what I thought were shocking quotes, I finally found something a little more reasonable. My only problem was that I needed to talk it over with my brother before I could finalize the deal and he wasn't back from a dentist's appointment yet. It only took about thirty minutes of discussion to decide to buy our tickets today. My brother had been expecting to pay twice the amount that we did and extra savings seemed worth it even though we had planned on arriving and departing in different cities. Not only did we get the tickets today, but we were able to nail down a rough draft of dates and places for our entire trip. Pretty soon I'll be able to start counting down the days until we leave. ... After spending so much time on the phone, it was so nice to just sit outside on my porch and enjoy the weather. Shade from the trees is still sparse, but I have a feeling that that will change in a week or two. Everyday the red maple by my porch sends it leaves out a little further. Without a doubt spring is here and it isn't leaving.
