europe then australia Last year at this time I think that I was more excited about my then upcoming trip than I am about the one that I'll be taking this year. I was still busy planning where I wanted to go and what I wanted to see. This year there isn't as much energy involved. Maybe knowing that I'll probably only be in three different cities has something to do with it. I won't be crossing over into another country every other day either. Now this doesn't mean that I don't want to go anymore. I do. It's just that this will be something different than last year. History and architecture won't be as diverse and the language barrier will be much less if not an issue at all. Besides I didn't have as much of a problem with the heavy accents as my brother did. I guess that for most people Australia might fall under that honeymoon destination category just like the Caribbean does with its beaches and laidback atmosphere, but for me that isn't the case. I'm not looking to lounge on a beach. If that was all that I wanted I wouldn't go all the way to Australia to get a tan and some sea shells. Hawaii would be far enough. I want to see a landscape that I can't see here in the United States be it the outback at the heart of the country or the rainforests in the north. I also want to say that I was in the Southern hemisphere just once, where the stars in the sky will be completely new to me. ... In some ways Wisconsin has become synonymous with wind. Another front rolled across the plains into the state today and kept the windows in my house rattling for most of it.
