my own place

Technically speaking this would be day three at my new place and I'm not sure what to say. Maybe I need to go back to the beginning and move forward from there. I also have a feeling that this entry is going to be very hurried and vague since I haven't had the time to write anything in days. Oh, well, I am sure that I'll get back into it by the end of the week.

On Saturday after work a two man crew came to my old place and started loading my belongings onto a truck. I would say that they were both about my age if not slightly younger. Neither of them seemed all that happy to be there, but at least they were on time.

When I had first spoken with them on the phone, they had told me that the entire move would take four hours and they delivered on that promise. It was great. Most of the stress was taken off of me and put on them. Oh, I lifted a few things here and there, but they did all of the heavy work. It was worth every dollar that I spent.

By noon I had handed over a check and they were gone. They had left me surrounded by boxes, but I couldn't stay to unpack because my parents would be stopping by my old place at two thirty to help get whatever the movers had left behind. This would include such things as plants, paintings and other things that don't travel well in the back of a truck or fit into a box.

My parents thought that I had a made a good purchase and told me so repeatedly. After the van was unloaded, I left with them to get a home cooked meal. I had been awake for over twenty four hours and I was unable to do much of anything except eat.

By eight thirty that night I was sound asleep in my very own home. The boxes would have to wait until Sunday.

...

After watching an episode tonight, I have to confess that I like the television program Boston Public. High school seems so far away to me and I have to wonder if reality is far worse than what they depict. I have no idea although I doubt that I could ever subject myself to that kind of a job. I'm also curious to see if Jeri Ryan can act in a serious drama and shake the sci-fi sex appeal image that she has fostered over the past few years.
