going to mars Eight thirty in the morning and I can feel the heat starting to build under a muddled sky. Even though the sun is hidden, the heat is still there weighing everything down. The air is going to have to be turned on before I go to sleep. I have no desire to wake up in a sweat hours before I should. Work was calm enough and I appreciated that fact. Nicole made an appearance here and there, but that was enough. We'll have more time to talk later in the week besides we talked quite a bit on Saturday morning. I also doubt that much happened to either of us during the day. I know that I slept through most of it and she probably did too. Instead of spending time with her, I had a new book to read and some other things that I needed to do before I left work. Getting paid to focus on personal projects makes work that much more tolerable. The time passed by quickly. ... With the holiday falling in the middle of my work schedule, most of last week felt odd to me. Oh, I don't see that as a bad thing, but at the same time I had a hard time remembering what day of the week it was until today. With today everything came back into focus for me. I was asleep by ten this morning and slept for a glorious seven and a half hours. Then when I woke I did some grilling and kicked back to watch Alias on television. With The X-Files a things of the past Jennifer Garner has to stand in for Gillian Anderson. Jennifer will be on the big screen next year as Elektra in the Daredevil movie. Sadly she isn't enough to keep me running away from that movie as fast as I can. It looks awful and I have no interest in seeing it. ... On the music front Good Feeling era Travis has been playing for most of the evening. In addition to the songs on that album I downloaded some more singles from that same time frame. Good stuff. They should have another album coming out soon. I sometimes wish that I had a Scottish accent. ...
