discontented winter thoughts

For the first time in weeks if not months, I caught an episode of Globe Trekker on television last night. Once again the host was in India and I still can't decide if I want to go there someday or not. The Himalayas are what make the decision so hard for me. To be able to stand at the top of the world just once would be amazing and justify having to endure massive crowds at the lower elevations to get there.

Even with the cloud cover that never went away, today felt more positive to me than Tuesday did. I think that the difference was that I prefer my Monday Wednesday class over my Tuesday Thursday one. Yes, the answer is that simple.

There was one thing that remained the same as Tuesday though. The people that I wanted to talk with in class were missing as was the case in my Tuesday class. I guess that this is to be expected so close to the end of the semester, but at the same time it did make me feel a little disappointed.

An hour and a half may not seem like that much time, but I am going to miss the amount of knowledge that gets crammed into my head during that timeframe four times a week. Yes, I do appreciate the educational element as much as I do the social part of being there.

The rest of the day was completely uneventful except for two things. I got into a geek argument with a longtime friend. Sadly or maybe appropriately this was done via email. The second thing worth noting was a call from a neighbor that I was not expecting. Due to winter parking regulations a car can not be parked on the street over night. Well, this person had been leaving their less than attractive vehicle on the street for months and now that option has been taken away from them. To solve their problem they asked if they could park on my property. I said no.
