interior decorating help After work this morning, I stopped over by my parents place to show my mom the batiks that I bought online. I didn't do this just to show them off, I also needed her to modify them slightly. Let me explain what I mean. Not too surprisingly , all of them are done on very thin cloth to make the dyeing easier, so I want her to add a backing of some sort to them so that they will hang better. Secondly I need her to add a pocket so a rod or dowel can be inserted for hanging. As of now I have no way of displaying them short of pinning them to wall or having them matted and framed, neither of which is something that I want to do. While I was there I lingered longer than I wanted just so I could see another episode of Trading Spaces. For some reason I find the show to be very addicting. Some of the transformations are a little too much for me, but sometimes they do something that really appeals to me. Of course if I had Genevieve Gorder helping me redesign my place, I would be in heaven. ... We've been lucky so far this winter. Unlike the east coast we haven't had any large amounts of snow. At most all that we have gotten is an inch at a time and that only seems to cover the ground for a day or two at the most. I keep wondering when that is going to change. ... The other day at work I loaned my copy of the movie Blade Runner to a coworker. Even though we're roughly the same age, he had never seen the movie and that surprised me. Then when he returned it, he said that he liked it, but that it was very eighties because according to him, everyone was wearing dog collars. |
