spending the return

Time keeps getting away from me and my presence here suffers because of it. My life has not come to a standstill nor am I depressed, but putting it into words has fallen by the side too often lately and I am hoping that that will change soon.

I keep telling myself that I need to focus more and use my time wisely, but the days still go by quicker than I thought possible. I'm not saying that I've been under stress, but at the same time the pace hasn't slowed down much since I got back from New Zealand.

Besides the everyday things that I need to do there are so many long range things that I have planned for this year. The key to this planning is the money that I am expecting from my tax return. At the moment the money could go towards one of three options.

The first and most practical option would be to refinance my mortgage. The low interest rates won't last forever and I might as well do it now. This idea had come to me last year, but I didn't have enough money to cover the cost and New Zealand was still on the horizon then.

Coming in second would be putting the money towards school. Once again this is very practical and makes a lot sense. Of course I could probably save enough money without dipping into the return fund.

The third and final option would be using the money for another week long getaway before the fall semester starts. Obviously this option isn't nearly as practical as the first two options, but this would be the most enjoyable of the three and may win in the end.

...

I need to sleep now. The forecast said something about thunderstorms so I am curious to see what greets me when I wake up later this afternoon.
