no buffy tonight After a rather ordinary week at work, I quietly started my weekend by catching up on my sleep. Monday gave me back some of what I had lost on Saturday and Sunday, but sleeping late on a weekend has always had a special appeal to me. Then when I did wake up there wasn't any interesting television to watch, all that I had was Smallville. Is it just me or does Lex's girlfriend look as though she could be Lana's older sister. Both of them have that dark exotic look going and they stand out from the rest of the cast because of it. I mean this is supposed to be happening in Kansas and here we have these women who are anything but down on the farm type girls. Of course this observation has nothing to do with the plot of the show, but I can't help noticing it. ... There are a few things that I want to get done this weekend. First of all, I want to hang the batiks that I bought months ago and do some general cleaning around my place. I also want to do some online furniture shopping. Now that I have most of the small decorative parts of my living room in place I need to change the furniture to match the Asian theme that I have going. I don't plan on buying anything just yet, but I need to start pricing certain items. Another task on my to do list is to figure out when I can register for my summer class and see if I can't fit in a one week trip to Canada before the fall semester starts. I guess that that counts as two items, but they have to work around each other in terms of timing. Once I get those things done I'll be going to a concert Thursday night and whatever free time that I have left will be spent reading which is something that I have been meaning to do for some time now. I have piles of books and magazines that are just waiting for me and I have neglected them for long enough. While I was in New Zealand I managed to read Neil Gaiman's American Gods and I am eager to start in on his book Stardust, which I picked up when I was in Auckland. |
