browsing with tabs

Early this morning, I managed to hang one of the batiks after doing an unplanned dance of sorts. What I mean is that the cloth was just big enough to make it awkward to hold and position at the same time. Another person would have made the job a little easier. However, instead of having an extra set of hands to help me with the batik, I did more hopping up and down than I wanted to do. A nail would fall and then I'd have to scramble back down to the ground to find it and then make my way back up onto the counter with my head way too close to the ceiling. This process was repeated more than once and did not make me happy. Obviously heat rises and being that close to the ceiling was not very comfortable for me, because I was already warm from climbing up and down as many times as I did. In the end the batik was hung and looked better than I thought that it would in the breakfast nook so it was worth the effort.

In geek news, the other night a friend at work and I were talking about the pathetic browser known as Internet Explorer. Neither of us use it. He is a big advocate of Linux and prefers to use Mozilla, while I have gone the route of Safari. Both of us praised the use of tabs in one browser window and wondered how long it would take Microsoft to replicate this technology into its little world. Neither of us really cared, but it made us laugh. We also enjoyed being freed of the madness of pop up windows which I swear are a feature of Explorer.

I didn't get any reading done today, but I did get some laundry done and a trip to the grocery store, before I passed out late in the afternoon. The weather was great, but it wasn't enough to keep me awake. I am hoping that I do better tomorrow.

Before I closed my eyes for the day, I did a small amount of impulse shopping online. At the Henry Rollins site, I discovered that there were two more spoken word discs of his that I didn't own. Well, now I do and I am expecting them in a couple of weeks. I still can't believe that I missed him when he was in the state earlier this year. While I was at the site, I briefly contemplated getting another book of his to go with the discs, but as I said the other day I already have enough things to read already. Of course that didn't stop me from subscribing to National Geographic Traveler magazine. For months my brother has been saying that I should read it and today I finally listened to him.
