oh the heat After work this morning, I made my way over to my parents' place to see them off before they left for Colorado. For weeks they had said that they had wanted to get away, but I didn't find out that they were leaving today until late last night. Plus I also wanted to swim in their pool since the weather forecast said that today was going to be the hottest day of the year so far. I say so far, because tomorrow is supposed to be even hotter before it cools off on Thursday. Most of the afternoon was a struggle between wanting to be in the pool or just getting some sleep. Eventually I stayed in the pool for about an hour floating around half awake, came inside to eat and then fell asleep on the floor. Actually falling asleep on the floor isn't quite true, because I swore that I was lying down on the couch and don't remember moving to the floor. My best guess is that at some point when I was sleeping I was getting too warm and moved down to where the cool air was circulating. ... I saw online that Jack Johnson will be performing here this Friday, but I work that day and I really can't stand going to Summerfest. To me there are far too many drunk people wearing too little clothing at that event and Wisconsin is not known for its fitness. Hairy beer belly guts and out of shape women seem to be everywhere as they consume more over priced beer and deep fried food. Adding extreme heat to that mix makes the experience even worse. |
