alberta rocky mountains Since I've been talking to a variety of people about my recent trip, I'm surprised by the number of them who aren't sure where Alberta is located in Canada. More then one person has thought that the province is located just north of Wisconsin, when in fact it borders British Columbia which is next to the Pacific Ocean. Then again I imagine that not many people give much thought to Canadian geography or Canada at all except when they watch an episode of the Red Green show or a hockey game. Going there had to be my least planned out venture. My main objective was to see as much of Banff and Jasper National Parks as possible. To me that was more than enough to see for a week if not two. Now that I am home I know that I could have spent far more time there than I did. There is so much to see and do there in terms of trails and lakes. Plus the remoteness of the area is something that can't be fully explained. Each day the biggest concern was where I was going to eat at the end of the day after driving through the mountains. It was so relaxing and hard to leave behind. |
