itinerant pirate city Milwaukee finally got some good press in the most recent issue of The New Yorker and I wish that that kind of thing would happen more often than it does. While paging through the magazine I saw an advertisement for the 2004 Toyota Solara. In the photo one can clearly see that the car is making its way past the Milwaukee lakefront with the very modern art museum in the center of the background. There wasn't a cheese head in sight. Nor were there any other negative connotations that seem to plague the city and or state. The only downside is that the ad is focused on the car and never mentions the city of Milwaukee so unless a person recognizes the museum the location is a mystery. Sigh. ... I keep seeking out new music, but I can't seem to find anything that I like. Boards of Canada was recommended to me by both my brother and Amazon, but I am one of those silly people who likes words to go with the music. |
