winter stays home

The new month started with a heat wave of sorts and I'm not complaining. Feeling every bump in the road as I drove my frozen car to and from work these past few days was getting tiresome. Despite this change I have no delusions that spring will be here soon. From having lived in Wisconsin all my life, I know that spring is still months away, but having double digit temperatures for highs is better than negative readings.

With the warmer temperatures, the thought of washing the salt off of my car crossed my mind as I was heading home this morning, but the lines at the car wash quickly put an end to that idea.

...

There was something that I forgot to mention the other day about the movie Sullivan's Travels. Veronica Lake reminded me of Mariel Hemingway in Woody Allen's Manhattan. Something about her voice made that connection in my mind, but I doubt that anyone else would hear it.

...

I'm not sure what to expect from this month, but I am guessing that it will go by far too quickly. School will continue to accelerate and I am determined to stay ahead rather than playing catch up as I have in the past.

Since January was a blur for me, I've come to realize that I need to find time to put things into perspective. If I don't take any time to breathe or look at what I've done, I start to feel lost and or overwhelmed. Okay, this wasn't a new revelation, but something that I keep forgetting.
