cable internet access The Amazing Race was back on television tonight for another season and yes I had to watch. It isn't the politics of the contestants and or the forced emotional moments that attract me. I just want to see where they send these people and their reactions to other parts of the world. One would hope that these people have a sense of adventure or they wouldn't have applied to be on the show, but sometimes they do make some dumb comments that make me wonder if they were taken out of context. Uruguay was the first destination and from what I saw I wasn't that impressed. About the only image that stayed with me was that of a giant hand sculpture on the beach. Fingers as tall as a house jutting out from the sand did make an impression. From what they said on the show it was meant to symbolize the last thing seen when a person goes under the waves and drowns. Otherwise I couldn't see any reason to go there, but then again I have never been into that whole tropical beach tourist scene. Hopefully the country has more to offer than what made the episode. |
