tasmania and meteoroa Falling asleep this morning with two afghan blankets over me was something that I hadn't done in months. It felt good. With the outside temperature hovering above the freezing mark, the blankets made sense. Sleeping in cool weather is so much easier for me than in the heat of summer. ... Paging through the October issue of National Geographic Traveler magazine, I've added two more travel destinations to my list, Tasmania and Meteroa, Greece. I'd come close to seeing Tasmania when I was in Melbourne three years ago, but I didn't have enough time to take a ferry to the island. There just wasn't that much flexibility in the package that I had bought for my sister and myself. I did, however, meet some people who lived there and they made a good impression on me. Greece was already on my list of places to see even before I read the article, but Meteroa is nothing like Athens and that appeals to me. A monastery built high in the mountains is amazing. I've seen chateaus in the Alps, but this is different. ... I didn't watch any Flash Gordon today. Instead I worked my way through some Mike Grell era Legion of Super Heroes. |
