iceland to norway A friend of mine at work who used to work with me on my shift quit. About a year ago he had made a move to first shift in an effort to get a better sleep schedule. At the time he also thought that the move might advance him in the company. Well, he may have made a successful return to a nine to five style of living, but he didn't move ahead in the company. His new post was little better than being a personal whipping boy for one of the more delusional people in the company and he suffered the entire time he was in that spot. People knew before he made the switch that he wouldn't be happy, but that didn't stop him from making the change. Now he's finally free of that misery and I couldn't be happier for him. Naturally my friend's sudden departure caught his boss completely off guard and caused more than a few ripples in the department. This reaction made me laugh, but I kept a straight face when his boss made the announcement that my friend had left the company. The sad part of this story is that his boss probably has no idea why my friend was so eager to leave and nothing will change in that department. ... Tonight's episode of The Amazing Race wasn't quite as exciting as the season premiere last week, but I watched as the teams made their way from Iceland to Norway. I still haven't picked a favorite team yet, but that isn't too surprising. With ten teams to follow it's hard to get that much insight into any of them. |
