day two already

With all of the recent holiday activity, I've had very little time for self-reflection. Seeing relatives is fun and something that needs to be done during the holidays, but I have always been someone who likes to have some alone time and that hasn't happened much if at all this past week. Naturally the excitement and rush of Christmas led right into the New Year, but with my return to work the New Year was almost a non-event for me. The upside to this full calendar of emotional activity with little personal time is that work has been slow and I may get some time to think this week.

....

Generally speaking January is seen as the time for resolutions, but I can honestly say that I don't have one. Yes, I'd like to get a new job, but I'm not sure if that qualifies. Maybe a better way to phrase it would be that I want to find a job that doesn't irritate me and that means updating my resume and doing something about it rather than complaining here and there. However, at the moment most of my energy is going into planning my next trip, which if all goes according to schedule should happen in March. Once I get back from China then I will have plenty of time to get a new job.
