lucifer planetary man Yesterday Mile High Comics delivered my monthly shipment of books, but I didn't get a chance to look at them until midnight last night or this morning depending on your point of view. What I find interesting is that the first three books that I read had nothing to do with the usual super hero stereotype. Lucifer was the very first book that I read from the stack and I don't think that anything could be farther from Spider-Man or others in that genre. Having absorbed the power of Michael, Elaine inadvertently created a third universe much to the amusement of Lucifer. Being the supreme being is not something that one learns to handle overnight and she was no exception to that rule. The question of how does one rule over everything was key to the issue, but there was also the other side of the equation that explored how people rationalize what they can not fully understand. Religion came into existence without Elaine wanting it to happen. Second from the pile was the latest issue of Planetary where Warren Ellis linked The Lone Ranger and The Stranger. I thought that it was amazing and hope that the next issue comes sooner than three months from now. Finally there was Y The Last Man where we the reader learned that Yorick survived the plague because of an anti virus that he got from Ampersand. I was pleased with that answer and am curious to see where the story goes next now that we have that piece of information. I also want to see how the newly reunited siblings, Hero and Yorick, interact. |
