worthwhile rode trip Late this afternoon when I crossed over the city limits into Milwaukee, there were over nine hundred miles on the odometer of my car. Before this Tuesday there had been somewhere around three hundred miles on the same display, but I didn't mind the change in mileage. Being able to get away from the city for almost four days was something that I truly needed. While I was away I didn't touch a keyboard nor did I even see a computer. The only technology that I saw around me was the television and that was off most of the time except for part of one night. I was too busy spending time outside to be worried about things that needed an electrical outlet. Oh, there was a small price to pay for my time outside. Mosquito bites are peppered across my shins and my back has just a hint of pink on it instead of the brown red that covers my arms. A small amount of discomfort was worth seeing my family get together for the last time this year. Soon my brother will be leaving for Iraq and contact will be reduced to email. |
