point of reference When I started reading Kim Stanley Robinson's novel The Years of Rice and Salt, I was wondering how he was going to cover so many centuries of human history. Would we the reader be given different protagonists through the various time periods? Today I got my answer. He was going to use reincarnation to essentially keep the same two main characters through the entire book. |
