some parental care Due to medical conditions that are beyond her control, it was decided that one of my sisters needed to move into my parents place. Obviously this is not something that she wanted to happen and is a serious loss of independence for her. I haven't really asked her how this was affecting her, but I knew that it had to hurt even though it was probably the best thing for her to do. Plus the two of us have never been that close so asking her how she was feeling would have been very hard for me. I know that if something of this sort had happened to me, I would probably have been very angry. These kinds of thoughts were what was going through my mind today as my parents and I emptied the belongings from her apartment into a moving truck. No one knows how long this arrangement will have to last, but I suspect that it won't end any time soon. Despite the sad circumstances behind the move and the cold weather, everything went well today. Nothing was broken and we finished in almost record time. |
