colorado to brazil

Tonight was the two hour season opener of the latest edition of The Amazing Race and I was firmly planted in front of the television watching the action. The teams had returned to a numbering of just two members per team instead of the four that was seen in the last season. For me this was a welcome relief. The family version last fall did not impress me at all and is something that I hope they do not repeat. There were too many personalities with that large amount of people to film and the overall pace of the race was slowed down because of it. Plus the fact that there were children on the teams kept all but two of the locations within in the United States.

As of now, I would have to say that my favorite team would be the mother and daughter duo, the two of them work well together and they seem like very down to earth people. That doesn't mean that my opinion won't change in the weeks ahead.

Brazil has never ranked very high on my list of places to see. I am sure that there are things to do and see there, but there isn't much appeal for me. Carnival in Rio doesn't interest me and that is usually cited as the number one attraction of the country. Maybe I am being too harsh, but I think that I would either go to Peru and or Chile before I would visit anywhere else in South America. I want to see the Andes, before I see people partying on the streets.
