one year later Clark Kent no longer has super powers and I am liking that recent change in events. Plus the inner geek me in almost squealed with delight when Hal said that Clark needed to get back in the game and offered him a Green Lantern ring to wear. I have a feeling that I am going to truly enjoy this new story arc taking place in the Superman titles. Then again it is being crafted by Kurt Busiek and Geoff Johns so I should have known that it would appeal to me. It was Kurt's work on Avengers Forever and Geoff's run on The Flash that brought me back into comics some seven years ago. Both of them made me remember why I loved the medium and showed me how good it can truly be under the hands of talented people. ... As much as I appreciate the warmer temperatures and extended daylight that come with spring, there is one downside to that equation. With an increase in stronger sunlight my bedroom tends to heat up that much more quickly in the afternoon hours making it hard to sleep like I need to do during the day for my third shift schedule. So in an effort to combat this effect, I hung some makeshift curtains made from extra bed sheets over my blinds before I went to sleep late this morning. Those added layers of cloth did an excellent job of sheltering me from the warm rays of the sun. Now I will be the first to admit that it looks silly from inside my bedroom, but no one on the outside can see what I have done. My only wish is that I could make something that is not only more attractive but easier to install and remove on a daily basis. |
