dressed in green I shouldn't be surprised by what I saw outside, but I was to a small degree. With all of the recent rain that has been falling this past week, the landscape has started to change. The color green has made a welcome return. I don't think that the trees in my front yard will be fully covered with leaves until next month, but seeing the transformation start to happen is exciting enough. Speaking of green, I saw another instance of green that had nothing to do with plants and or trees. As was making my way along the final leg of my walk this morning, I saw this blonde woman standing in her doorway looking out at me. That would have been fine except for one thing. All that she was wearing was a green negligee that probably isn't meant to be seen by strangers. I was so caught off guard by her standing there that I don't know if she said something to me or not. Nor do I know how long she was standing there. What I do know is that I was looking at her and she was looking at me. We made eye contact. Even after that took place, she made no attempt to hide herself or pull back inside the house. Then the questions started in my mind. Why was she there? What was she doing? Maybe I was meant to see her. Maybe it was meant to be some kind of sexual advance. Maybe I stopped her from getting her morning paper. I thought of saying something to her, but didn't. Looking back as I was walking away from her I never saw her go inside. The whole odd experience was completely unexpected and not fully understood. It was almost as though I had stumbled onto the set of Desperate Housewives. |
