removing the nation For the first time in weeks, the weather was on my side when it came time for my weekend. To take full advantage of the pleasant summer like weather, I spent hours outside on my deck reading the novel Thirteen Moons. Sadly I had started the book back in March, but did not have any free time for it until now. That was corrected today by reading a solid one hundred pages before I put the book aside. I wish that I knew more about the Trail of Tears and the removal of the Cherokee from their lands. Generally speaking the book is about that event, but it is spoken of obliquely and I have no idea what is fact and what is fiction. From what I gather, Andrew Jackson was not fond of Native Americans. ... Another great episode of Lost aired tonight and if that was John's true demise, I will miss him. Thankfully they redeemed his character by making him confident again instead of the insecure person he was inside the hatch. I also love the back-story on Ben and the connection between the microbus that Hurley found. Seeing Richard older than Ben did surprise me and I want to know more about him. I am not sure what to think about Jacob. Part of me is wondering whether we will ever get an answer about the broken statue with four toes that Sayid saw a while ago. |
