China

Last night after work, I watched some television. I usually don't watch that much, but when I do I try to be selective. Anyway I was watching the latest installment in the Michael Palin series Full Circle. This is the third program where he has traveled around the world and made a series documenting it. One was called Around the World in Eighty Days and the other one was called From Pole to Pole. I have enjoyed all three of them and am very jealous of Palin. He gets paid to see the world and he isn't in the military or the airline industry.

Palin is in China now. I would love to go to China. Their culture is so fascinating to me. This country has the world's largest population, but they are still entering into the twentieth century. National Geographic just had an article about the Three Gorges project on the Yangtze River, the third longest river in the world. They are the country to watch in the coming future.

Some films about China that I highly recommend include The Last Emperor and Raise the Red Lanterns. The first one is in English and the second one is subtitled. Both of them are very moving.

Today looked like autumn. Overcast skies and wind are all that nature has to offer at this time of year. You can sense the change about to happen. October has traditionally been a month of change for me. It was in October two years ago that I made the transition from one girlfriend to a new girlfriend. Then last October the relationship with the new girlfriend was ended. So I can only imagine what the fates have in store for me this year.

Time is on my side, yes it is...

I am really starting to loathe first shift. I miss my three and day four weekends. I like staying up late. Ugh. I have three meetings in a row tomorrow. The only thing that I have to look forward to at work is that I get a new cube next week. Oooh. Aaah.

It has been over a year since I have had a cube of my own. Sorry, Virginia. The realm of computer operator does not have cubes for operators. Now that I am more important I get a little world of my own. I can hang cheesy keep out signs and other annoying office crap.

Plus they are sending me to school later this month. I feel like I am going to camp.

I am experimenting with fractals on my computer while I listen to Mozart.
