Groceries and Laundry Not much to talk about today. I went to class and then I went back to the hotel. Tonight was laundry night. I also did some grocery shopping tonight. The local chain has something that I haven't seen before. At the checkout lane, the cashier puts your groceries in a basket after they have been scanned. They don't bag them, they just put them in a basket. The conveyor ends at the scanner so they have to put them somewhere. Once all of your groceries are back in a basket you get to wheel it over to a bench to bag it yourself. So I put the food in a basket and then take it out. They scan it and put it back in the basket. Then I take it out the basket, put it in bags and then put it back in the basket. Now why do they have to put it back in a basket? Can't they just have longer conveyor belts like other supermarket chains? Do they really save that much money by having shorter conveyors? My life is non stop thrills. Not that I am complaining. Sometimes the mundane is not so bad.
