Michelangelo sibyl from the Sistine Chapel

untitled

I come close to staying on a third shift schedule when Sunday rolls around, but I never quite go all the way and today was no exception.

I woke at five in the evening and milled around the house for most of the night. All of this is fine until after midnight, when I become very aware of how much my house creaks when I walk. Each step that I take seems to set off an alarm throughout the house. I try to limit my walking so as not to disturb my neighbors downstairs, but it starts to seem silly to me and I fall asleep.

In my reading I went from the Civil War to the Vietnam War and I'm not sure why.
