Michelangelo sibyl from the Sistine Chapel

nova scotia

I certainly did more yesterday than I mentioned in the entry. I just didn't have it in me to write anything. The inner dialogue just wasn't there. All that could be heard was a slight hum.

Besides the computer work and laundry, I also did some research for my next trip. After some more thought the destination is definitely going to be Nova Scotia. I had briefly pondered going somewhere in Montana or Wyoming, but I want to see the ocean not the mountains. Europe will be next year, but I'll get my passport before the year is over.

The last time I was in Nova Scotia was camping with my family on the far north end of the province, but I think that I'll stay in Halifax this time, because I don't plan on camping. Travelling on a plane with a tent doesn't really appeal to me. The tent that I have is small enough to fit into a suitcase, but I think that I want to sleep in a bed not on the ground when I am on vacation. Besides staying in an urban environment will make it easier to get around and offer just as many things to see and do.

I know that I certainly need the trip. A change of scenery for a few days will hopefully add some kind of excitement or fun to my life. I need to start to live again. The job is under control and whatever the outcome of the housing situation will be, I am sure that I will manage.

Today I got even closer to making the trip a reality by getting some airfare quotes. After I make another phone call or two, I should have my tickets and then I'll work on hotel reservations.

Driving last night was odd. The heavy cloud cover from the day made the night seem that much darker. Not a star could be seen. I couldn't even make out the shape of the clouds. It was a flat darkness giving no hint of what might be behind it and it bothered me.
