the force is illogical There was a brief incident at work yesterday that I forgot to mention. My boss asked me something and I didn't know the answer. Generally I admit when I do not know something, because it doesn't bother me and saves me from having more problems down the line. Besides I thought that what he was asking was unimportant. Now if he would have left it at that point, I wouldn't have minded him asking me, but he didn't. He kept asking me the same question over and over in a new form. Maybe he thought that he could jog my memory or something. I personally felt that he was badgering me. Oh, I know that I have problems with authority figures from time to time, but I can not stand it when someone in a management position pulls this routine. They delve over and over into their little psychobabble bag of tricks, but it doesn't work one me. I don't crack. Instead of an informative answer, they get pure sarcasm. When he launched into a hypothetical situation, I replied that I dwell in reality. Whenever I hear the word hypothetical from a manager, I instantly bristle. They never seem to stop until I tell them what they want hear. I think that I have argued at least once with any person who has ever called themselves my boss. A title means nothing to me. Their shit still stinks. Okay, I am done ranting. Well, I had to see it one more time in the theater and I think that it was worth it. This time I was by myself instead of being part of a group. I could get completely immersed into the story without any distractions. Now that I knew what was going to happen, I could focus on the smaller details that I had missed the first time. Then as soon as the coming attractions were over it happened. Every time that I hear the opening music of Star Wars, I get goosebumps. It still has that effect on me after all these years. Maybe most of this is nostalgia, but I don't care. That silly little galaxy and its people from a long time ago is part of my imagination. I may not agree with everything in the film, but there are some scenes that are truly wonderful to see. The city of Naboo, the costumes and the choreography of the fights are all amazing. On a lighter note, my friend Dan in California told me about an incident he saw on television there. He said that followers of Star Trek had gone down to taunt Star Wars fans standing in line at theaters. The Star Trek faction was chanting the force is illogical over and over at the Star Wars faction. I can't imagine anything funnier.
