Michelangelo sibyl from the Sistine Chapel

Even though today was a Tuesday, it really wasn't that bad of a day for me. Usually I just sort of mill around and do nothing, but I managed to get out of the house for a little while, which was good. Being out and doing something improves my mood and it makes it easier to relax when I get back home.

A change in weather gave me enough incentive to do something besides lie around thinking about going back to work. For the first time in days the sun was shining and I didn't want to miss it. Nor did I feel like sitting inside a theater, since I had spent close to four hours inside them yesterday. As much as I like seeing movies, I needed a break from sitting in the dark staring at a big screen.

Well, I think I should be able to keep my honorary geek membership card. I bought not one, but four Star Wars figures this afternoon. I had only planned on getting just one for a laugh, but something came over me when I was in the store and I left with a small handful. Seeing all of those figures in their plastic packages made me regress somehow. Suddenly I was old as the boy in front of me sifting through the racks trying to decide which one he wanted to buy.

I have no idea what I will do with them beyond arrange them on my desk. I'm certainly not going to keep them in the boxes and never touch them. They are toys, not collector items to me. I think that as long as I don't start making dioramas for them or talk to them, I'll be okay.

People will be coming and going at my parents' house this week. My brother leaves for Texas one day and then the next day the sister in Texas comes home for a few days. They may not see each other this week, but both of them will be at the same base in Texas for months, so they are bound to cross paths at some time. As for me the next time that I'll see my brother will be in August and I won't see that sister again until Christmas.
