homeward bound

Home. It feels good to be home. As much as I enjoyed my trip this past week, being in a familiar setting again is what I want right now. It was a very physical vacation as I kept the idle time to a minimum. It was almost continual movement as I travelled across the province. Now that I am home, I can rest.

I leave behind the slightly unreal world of the traveller for one of the everyday. Tomorrow I'll be back in the middle of juggling my job, bills and other such things. The suitcase will be unpacked and put away until the next trip calls me to escape for a time.

Here I am sitting in my canvas director's chair staring at the monitor wondering where to begin. So much has happened and I want to talk about all of it, but I am so tired. Then there is the small matter that I haven't touched or even seen a computer keyboard in a week. What was an important part of my daily routine is slightly foreign to me now and I am having trouble getting back into it. Words forming images is too hard at the moment.

Excuses spring forth here and there, but I try to avoid them. The most obvious excuse would be jetlag with Nova Scotia being two hours ahead of Milwaukee time. Then there are the two plane flights that I had today to add even more confusion to my internal clock. Hopefully most of this will pass after I get some sleep.

What I can say for certain is that I took better notes this time than when I went to California earlier this year. Then as an added bonus I might even have some photos to compliment the words.
